Orlando already publishes walking surfaces on park and trail pages. The city names a 0.9-mile sidewalk at Lake Eola, paved paths and trails at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, and the Cady Way Trail with a Lake Baldwin loop. Orange County Parks and Recreation publishes the West Orange Trail. Entry fees, seasonal hours, and closures stay on those pages. Confirm before you go.

“Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, with a sidewalk that circles the lake 0.9 miles in length, making it easy for visitors to keep track of their walking or running distances.”, City of Orlando, Lake Eola Park

Lake Eola Park

Allen Centennial Fountain, the Walt Disney Amphitheater, playgrounds, and swan-boat rental (hours limited; the boat schedule is on that page). Address on the city page: 512 East Washington Street, Orlando, FL 32801. Park hours are posted there and change; read the current block on orlando.gov.

Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake

Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake covers 183 acres alongside Turkey Lake. Amenities the city names include a paved walking path, bike/jogging trails, hiking, fitness stations, disc golf, playgrounds, and camping. Address on the city page: 3401 South Hiawassee Road, Orlando, FL 32835. The city publishes a daily vehicle entry fee and seasonal hour ranges on that page; the pier and pool have carried closure notices there as well. Use the city’s numbers, not a reprint here.

Cady Way Trail

The Cady Way Trail page places the trail four miles northeast of downtown. It is twelve feet wide, runs from the Fashion Square Mall area through Orange County toward the Cross Seminole Trail, and includes a 2.5-mile loop around Lake Baldwin and a 1.5-mile spur on the west side of Lake Susannah. Neighborhoods named: Audubon Park, Baldwin Park, Colonial Town Center, Coytown. Orange County also maintains a Cady Way Trail park listing (sunrise to sunset on that listing).

West Orange Trail

Orange County Parks and Recreation’s West Orange Trail page describes 22.32 miles of paved trail from the Orange/Lake County line through Killarney, Oakland, Winter Garden, and downtown Apopka to Welch Road. Hours on that listing: sunrise to sunset. Bike rental vendors named on the county page sit at Killarney Station; current rental rates belong on the operator.

How to use a city loop with CDC minutes

  1. Read CDC’s moderate-intensity talk test (you can still converse) on the activity lesson.
  2. Pick a loop whose distance is printed on a city or county page. Lake Eola’s 0.9-mile sidewalk is the shortest downtown option the city names.
  3. Confirm hours and any entry fee on that same page the day you go.
  4. Count loops against the weekly minutes on the CDC adult page, then take personal targets to a clinician.
